Bangkok kept the world's most-visited crown in 2025 with 30.3 million international arrivals — inside Thailand's softer 32.97 million. The mix is rotating: India and Russia set records, Europe hit highs, and the average stay runs 9.9 nights.
Thailand's 2025 top five by volume: Malaysia (4.52M), China (4.47M, down a third), India (2.49M, record), Russia (1.90M, record) and South Korea (1.56M). Bangkok takes the largest share of all of it — 30.3 million international arrivals made it Euromonitor's #1 city on earth for the second straight year.
The mix is rotating West: the UK (1.08M, record), Germany (966k, record) and France (817k, record) all set historical highs, and per-trip spending rose to ฿47,686 as long-haul share grew. The headline decline is a China story — the rest of the passport map is compounding.
Nine-point-nine nights: no other top-tier destination holds visitors this long. Bangkok is the base camp for the whole country — two or three nights in the city bracket a beach or Chiang Mai leg — which multiplies room-nights per arrival beyond any European city in this series. The White Lotus effect added a fresh long-haul wave on top.
A softer year that still delivered #1: the arrivals dip concentrates in short-haul volume, while the high-yield passports — India, Russia, the UK, the Gulf — keep setting records. That is exactly the mix the new park-frontage luxury tier is built for. The pipeline is not betting on 2019 coming back; it is betting on the visitor who stays ten nights and books the suite.
