Nagoya: The City, Tracked

Japan’s industrial capital is becoming a hospitality story: a Conrad atop Sakae’s new landmark tower, a castle-side ESPACIO, an Andaz signed for the Meitetsu station rebuild — and a maglev that will put Nagoya 40 minutes from Tokyo.

The hotel landscape

Nagoya is the engine room: Toyota’s corridor, Japan’s densest manufacturing belt, a million people through Nagoya Station every day. For decades its hotels matched the brief — efficient, mid-tier, forgettable. The 2024–2026 wave rewrote that: Royal Park Iconic and TIAD, then ESPACIO Nagoya Castle on the castle moat in October 2025, and Conrad Nagoya in July 2026 atop The Landmark Nagoya Sakae.

The airport is in recovery rather than record mode: Chubu Centrair handled 11.59 million passengers in FY2025 — 92% of pre-pandemic — with the international share back to 46.3% and Vietnam emerging as a growth corridor (338,000 round-trip passengers in 2025).

The Nagoya dossier is complete — a tracker plus four urban readings: the air hub, the rail hub, the arrivals table and the money flow.
