CASABLANCA BUS HUB
Casablanca spreads its coaches across three addresses: CTM’s terminal within walking distance of Casa Port station, Supratours buses feeding the ONCF network, and the crowded Ouled Ziane gare routière for local companies.
CTM’s Casablanca terminal is the traveller’s default: a walk from Casa Port station, tied into the tram and the airport train, with online booking and assigned seats. Supratours works as the railway’s bus arm — its coaches leave from the rail-station forecourts and hold through-ticket logic with ONCF trains, useful when a line ends and the road begins. Ouled Ziane, the municipal gare routière southeast of the centre, is where the cheaper local companies load: real savings on some routes, but older stock, looser schedules and a scramble at the luggage hatch.
The trunk route is Marrakech — about three hours, many departures a day, roughly comparable to the train on time and below it on price. Fez runs about four hours, Rabat just over one (though the train wins that corridor), and CTM’s network reaches Tangier, Agadir, Essaouira and the desert gateways. Practical notes: buy the five-dirham luggage sticker before boarding; on weekends and holidays book a day ahead; and if a taxi driver quotes a flat fare to the terminal, the meter is always less. For the airport, skip the coach entirely — the ONCF train from Casa Voyageurs to Mohammed V runs about forty-five minutes.
THE TIO READ
The Casablanca rule: train for Rabat and the airport, CTM for Marrakech and the coast. Supratours earns its keep only when the railway hands off — book it as a through ticket and the Fez-to-Chefchaouen leg stops being a logistics puzzle.
