ASEAN’s new visitor champion: 63.3 million passengers through KLIA — the biggest climb into the world’s top 20 airports — a Golden Triangle pipeline of Waldorf Astoria, Regent, Conrad and Langham, and Malaysia’s record 42.2 million visitors feeding it.
Kuala Lumpur runs on the Golden Triangle — KLCC, Bukit Bintang, TRX — a business-and-retail grid priced on regional corporate demand, now joined by Merdeka 118: the world’s second-tallest tower with a Park Hyatt at its crown.
The pipeline is catching up with Bangkok and Singapore: 6,209 rooms under construction across 20 hotels, a third of them luxury — Waldorf Astoria’s 272 all-suite tower, Regent, Conrad and The Langham all land between 2026 and 2027.
The Kuala Lumpur dossier is complete — tracker plus four urban reads: the airport node, the rail node, the passport table and the money flow.
