Busan's hotel ladder: from the LCT tower to serviced suites

Busan closed 2025 with a record 3.6 million foreign visitors, and its hotel scene keeps climbing the brand ladder — Signiel in the clouds above Haeundae, a Wyndham Grand on Songdo beach, and now a wave of serviced suites built for medical tourists who stay for weeks, not weekends.

The brand ladder, tower by tower

The modern Busan ladder starts with Signiel Busan, which opened in 2020 in the LCT Landmark Tower above Haeundae — rooms from roughly ₩450,000, the Salon de Signiel lounge and an infinity pool on the 19th floor. The Westin Josun, a 40-year Haeundae veteran with direct beach frontage from about ₩400,000, and Park Hyatt in Marine City complete the top shelf.

The middle is filling fast. Wyndham Grand Ijin Busan opened in November 2023 as the first Wyndham Grand in Korea — 271 rooms above Songdo beach with an indoor pool facing the Namhang bridge. L7 Haeundae by Lotte followed in 2024 with a rooftop pool, and December 2025 brought Hyatt Place Busan Yeonsan: 160 rooms by Yeonsan Station on Metro Lines 1 and 3, the brand's first Busan address and Hyatt's second in the city after Park Hyatt.

The serviced-suite wave

The real pipeline story of 2025–26 is serviced apartments: SOTA SUITE Seomyeon, Travelodge Haeundae Centum, Le Collective residences and KAIVE Suite Songjeong due in 2026. The format matches the new demand — dermatology and plastic-surgery patients who need two quiet weeks near Seomyeon's clinic district, and Taiwanese and Japanese repeat visitors staying five nights where they once stayed two.

Short-term rentals tell the same story: average daily rates around $111 at roughly 42% annual occupancy, peaking in the August beach season and spiking again for the October film festival.

THE TIO READ
The reviewer’s call

Our read: split the stay. Two nights on the Haeundae strip — Signiel if the budget allows, the Westin Josun for the beach itself — then move west to Nampo or Seomyeon, where the city actually eats, shops and spends. If you are coming for clinics, skip the beach entirely and book a serviced suite near Seomyeon; the 2026 crop is built exactly for that trip.
