Oslo: The City, Tracked

The Nordic capital that quietly out-earns its size: a record 27.07 million airport passengers, 6.9 million guest nights — and the strongest RevPAR growth in Scandinavia. Eight studies, one hub.

The hotel landscape

Oslo enters the series as Scandinavia's quiet outperformer: Norway passed 40 million guest nights for the first time in 2025 (+5.2%), and Oslo alone recorded 6.9 million — the country's No. 1 region with a 30% share, powered by a record 14.2 million international nights nationwide (+14%).

The gateway keeps pace with the demand: Oslo Airport closed 2025 at a record 27.07 million passengers (+2.4%), with international traffic at 15.97 million (59%) still trailing its 2019 peak — the gap Avinor calls the market's main upside. The waterfront carries a second gateway: 21 weekly overnight ferry crossings to Denmark and Germany, shore power since 2019, and a cruise line forecast at +131,000 passengers for 2025.

The hotel market is where the outperformance shows: September 2025 RevPAR grew +11.2% (Annordia), roughly +50% above the pre-pandemic best — the steepest repricing in the Nordics, against +18% in Copenhagen and +14% in Stockholm (Colliers). The stock is led by conversions and design flagships — Sommerro's 257-key art-deco landmark, Clarion The Hub's 810 keys — rather than mega-openings, an honest cycle of renovation and repricing.
