The mapWho actually flies to Mahé in 2026
As of the July 2026 operations snapshot, ten carriers serve Seychelles International: Emirates (Dubai, daily), Qatar Airways (Doha, 4× weekly), Ethiopian (Addis Ababa, daily), Kenya Airways (Nairobi, 5×), Turkish (Istanbul, 3×, resumed June), Aeroflot (Moscow, 2×, returned July 8), Air Tanzania (Dar es Salaam, 3×, new since May), IndiGo (Mumbai, 4×), Discover Airlines (Frankfurt, 2×, year-round) — and Air Seychelles itself.
The national carrier is the quiet story of the season: beyond its regional network (Abu Dhabi daily, Johannesburg 3×, Mauritius 4×, Colombo weekly), Air Seychelles launched non-stop Paris CDG in March 2026 — explicitly as a corridor-independent link while Gulf airspace was disrupted. Two weekly (Fri/Sun) through July, rising to three for August. The fleet plan for 2026/27 includes an aircraft dedicated to the European route.

The corridor lessonWhat spring 2026 taught the route map
The March–June Gulf disruption (Issues № 01, № 06) stress-tested every access route simultaneously. Three findings now shape smart booking:
- The Gulf hubs bent, did not break. Emirates (daily) and Qatar (4× weekly) restored schedules fastest and remain the capacity backbone — about 60% of visitors still connect through DXB/DOH/AUH.
- The alternates proved themselves. Ethiopian's daily Addis Ababa run and Kenya Airways' Nairobi link carried the rebooking wave — slower, cheaper, corridor-free. Both are now first-choice comparisons, not fallbacks.
- Europe direct exists again. Paris (Air Seychelles), Frankfurt (Discover year-round, Condor seasonally to May 2026), Zurich (Edelweiss, September–May) — none daily, none cheap at peak, all immune to Gulf weather. Direct Europe fares run a premium of €150–300 over one-stop Gulf routings — the price of independence.
The fare gameSame seat, €400 apart
Economy returns from Europe swing €700–900 in low season to €800–1,200 in high (SeyVillas cost guide) — and within the same week, gateways price €300–400 apart. The discipline: price every trip across at least three gateways (DXB, DOH, ADD at minimum; FRA/CDG if dates align), book 7+ weeks out for standard dates, and treat September–October and February–June as fare low season. Business class: expect €2,800–4,500 return from Europe on Gulf carriers, with periodic €2,200 sales on Ethiopian.
True stay costThe invoice behind the invoice
The Seychelles quotes closer to the truth than the Maldives (Issue № 06) — but four lines still surprise first-timers:
- Inter-island transfers. Cat Cocos ferry Mahé–Praslin ~€47–60 one way; the 15-minute Air Seychelles hop prices similarly to a ferry seat in shoulder season. Helicopter/charter to private islands: $400–700 return per adult (Issue № 02).
- The levy ladder. SCR 100/person/night at large hotels and island resorts, SCR 75 medium, free at ≤24 rooms (Issue № 05). A couple, 10 nights, top shelf: ~€120–160 — small, but itemise it.
- Board reality on islands. Private islands without alternative dining: full-board supplements ~€465/person/day at the top end. On Mahé/Praslin, restaurant dining out is the underrated saving: €25–60 mains versus resort menus.
- The all-in benchmarks. Two weeks, per person: guesthouse budget €1,800–2,300 · comfortable 3–4★ €2,500–5,000 · 5★ resort with business class €6,000–10,000 (SeyVillas). Go2Africa frames it per night: $590 entry to $3,200+ at exclusive island retreats. The same country, fivefold apart — decided almost entirely by the bed and the cabin.
Where the money leaks
Peak-dated flights, island full-board, helicopter transfers, one-hub itineraries that double-pay for transport. All four are booking decisions, not destiny.
Where the money saves
Shoulder fares via ADD/DOH, levy-free small stays, dining out on Mahé, 15-minute flight over the bumpy ferry, points at Platte (Issue № 02).

Final OutlookSeason verdict
Access has never been the Seychelles' weakness — dependence on one corridor was. The 2026 shock fixed that: Paris is back, Africa is proven, and the traveller now has genuine route choice for the first time in a decade.
For the traveller
Compare three gateways before any booking. Take direct Europe when the premium is under €200. Book flexible. Count transfers, levy and board before comparing nightly rates.
For the market
Watch the Paris route's winter retention and Air Seychelles' 2026/27 European fleet decision — if direct Europe capacity sticks, the source-market mix (69.8% European, Issue № 01) finally gets structural support.
