Perth is one of the few hotel markets on earth beating every pre-pandemic metric — RevPAR hit a record A$199 in 2025 — and the supply is finally answering: Hyde's Australian debut on Pier Street, a convict-era design hotel in Fremantle, and the airport's first hotel in 2027.
Hyde Perth opened in March 2026 on Pier Street — the Hyde brand's Australian debut, 121 rooms in warm WA sunset tones with a Mediterranean pool deck and the Farra poolside restaurant, ten minutes from Elizabeth Quay. It joins a city that has quietly assembled a serious small-hotel scene: the heritage COMO The Treasury in the State Buildings, the Art Series' Adnate with its 27-storey mega-mural, and Alex Hotel in Northbridge.
Fremantle got its own landmark in September 2025: the Garde Hotel, 83 rooms plus restored heritage cottages in a convict-era precinct a short walk from the Markets and the Prison — design-led, with the Japanese-Korean restaurant Anglesea below.
The most telling opening is not in the city at all: Pullman Perth Airport, due in 2027, will be the airport's first hotel — part of the A$5 billion consolidation that is also bringing a new runway in 2028 and a new terminal around 2031. An airport that handles 18 million passengers a year has never had a bed on site; that absurdity ends here.
The market context justifies every key: Perth's RevPAR reached a record A$199 in the third quarter of 2025, up 9% year on year, with the city one of the few Australian markets exceeding all pre-pandemic metrics on corporate and event demand. Event weekends — the Ashes, the WWE takeover, Sail GP — now sell the CBD to the walls.
Our read: split the state between city and port. Two nights in the CBD — Hyde for the new-money energy, COMO The Treasury for the special-occasion stay — then move to Fremantle's Garde for the last night, so the morning ferry to Rottnest is a five-minute walk. Book Ashes and concert weekends a year out; Perth's record rates are earned in about twenty weekends, and the rest of the calendar still prices like a secret.
