Two ledgers, one shock absorber. The inbound side is counted by the Ministry of Tourism and the Central Bank of Jordan; the outbound side has no trip-count series at all — Jordanians’ travel abroad exists officially only as a balance-of-payments line.

The Read. Jordan closed 2025 with 6.475 million visitors (MoTA) — up from 5.647M in the war-shadowed 2024 — and tourism income of roughly JOD 5.5bn (≈$7.7bn), while Queen Alia set an all-time record of 9,789,851 passengers, +11.3%. The outbound ledger is money-only: JD 570.1M of travel payments in Jan–May 2025, +12.5% — no official headcount exists.

01 — The outbound ledger

Jordan publishes no official count of residents’ trips abroad. What exists is the Central Bank’s balance of payments: the travel-payments line — what Jordanians spend on travel outside the Kingdom.

02 — The inbound mirror
